Christopher has a
PhD in livestock nutrition from Oregon State University, as well as
a B.S. and M.S. from North Dakota State University. In his
current position with NDSU, he serves as Director and Animal
Scientist at the Hettinger Research Extension Center, as well as
Adjunct Professor in the Department of Animal Science.
His
research interests are nutritional management of grazing livestock,
improving reproductive efficiency of cattle and sheep, nutritional
management of feedlot cattleand sheep, and grazing strategies to improve the
ecologic and economic sustainability of livestock production in
Southwestern North Dakota. He has published extensively in
the Journal of Animal Science, the Sheep & Goat Research
Journal, and various other scientific publications. He has
authored as lead or supportive scientist grants totalling over
$5 million.
